I recently bought my first UPS, a Maruson power UPS 500 240W. I don't have AC in my house & the UPS is really hot, is this normal ??? Should I turn it off when I'm not using it???

Hi,

If the ups is hot, not normal, when you first plug the unit in the battery will charge and get a little warm not overly hot to the touch, did you follow the instructions when installing the ups?

Some ups come packaged with the battery disconnected and you need to connect it although I doubt this would cause such a problem.

I guess what I am trying to say is if you followed the instructions and the battery is connected correctly then the unit would be bad and should be returned.
