Both IE and Mozilla (1.7) are not displaying websites properly. Google.com times out for instance. Other websites are not displayed correctly like without graphics. All works fine when I startup in save mode. My connection seems to work fine. I can download updates for virus programs etc. One of my email accounts also times out in outlook. Both these problems started at the same time. I´ve ran several virus checks (housecall, avast and AVG) and spyware checks (Spybot, Spycatcher, bazooka and CWwhredder) but the problem is still there. Thanks in advance for your help!

I have Windows firewall enabled, I´m running XP prof. I think my router also has a build in firewall of some sort. My laptop however is running fine behind the same router. So does my wifes computer.

It´s off now. Google.com still won´t load. There is no change in behaviour.

dwac.nl: no images
adobe.com: White screen
kieskeuring.nl: Is displayed but with a different font than normally

I seem to have found the cause:

When I stop the process ashWebSv.exe everything works again. This process is related to avast antivirus. I just cannot figure out how to fix this.

Any ideas?
