I know people have been getting this problem forever and I am hoping someone has a solution. I am extremely new to this site so please just try to put me in the right direction.

I am trying to pull up itunes and it says that an error has occured and needs to close, & I need to update my ipod. Do i have some sort of virus that i need to get rid of? Help please.

I had the same problem (after upgrading to iTunes 5) and I was finally able to fix the issue by reinstalling quicktime via the standalone installer available from Apple at:
