USB ports have stopped working

I have a Dell Inspiron1150 and XP, now my usb ports have stopped working. the device manager shows no conflicts, anyone know a fix for this situation?

if you have the same problem as me, check in the bios to see if they are enabled. My comp done this and i thought my memory stick had died, bought a new one before i found out that the USB ports were actually turned off in the bios :<.

I have checked the bios and they are turned on.
both usb ports are non-functional and I have tryed a vareity of devices, that previously worked on this machine

Did you do any updates or new installations?
List USB devices that you have.
