back again,

it seems that after a little bit of time, the internet and my ie stops communicating and i can't access any internet.

i end up either.....

1. restarting my computer and then it works for a short time and then does it again.....

2. disconnect my cable modem for a minute or so and then reconnect and then i have full access again for a short while.

i have updated virus scan, spybot, reg cleaner, ad-aware, the cleaner and did the hjt and the log is as follows..........

hey metallica - don't know if you're checking this or not, but i did what you wanted me to try and it didn't seem to work at all.

in doing all this and with a little history of internet problems i called my 24/7 tech support and guess what.............my modem was going bad. so they had me bring in my old one and they (the cable company) swapped out the old one for a new one.

now things flyhh at the speed of sound.

thank you for your help and heave a good set of holidays!!

Good to hear you got it figured.
It is also nice that not every bad connection is caused by malware and sometimes "good old" technical problems happen.

Surf speedy and safely, <_<
