Let's do another Kaspersky scan..

Please do an online scan with Kaspersky WebScanner

Next Click on Launch Kaspersky Anti-Virus Web Scanner

You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.
  • The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
  • Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
  • Now click on Scan Settings
  • In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
    • Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
    Standard
    • Scan Options:
    Scan Archives
    Scan Mail Bases
  • Click OK
  • Now under select a target to scan:Select My Computer
  • This program will start to scan your system.
  • The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
  • Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
    • Now click on the Save as Text button:
  • Save the file to your desktop.
  • Copy and paste that information in your next post.

  • Open HiJackThis
  • Click on the configure button on the bottom right
  • Click on the tab "Misc Tools"
  • Click on the Box that says "Uninstall Manager"
  • Click on the button "Save list"
  • Copy and paste the List from the notebook onto your post

Where's your Anti-virus software? Firewall?

I suggest you to uninstall this software;

Kaspersky On-line Scanner
HijackThis 1.99.1
Microsoft AntiSpyware (Beta software -- not recommended. Has some slight bugs and problems on removing some of the malware out there.)
TrojanHunter 4.2
Panda ActiveScan
Spy Sweeper
ewido security suite

Keep;

Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.4
SpywareBlaster v3.4
Ad-Aware SE Plus

(Launch your AdWatch too)

What you NEED to get;
  • AntiVirus Program <= An AntiVirus program is a must! Whether it is a free version like AVG or Anti-Vir, or a shareware version like Norton or Kaspersky, this is a must have.
Otherwise your PC will be infected again after couple days surfing..
  • More Secure Browser <= Internet Explorer is not the most secure and best browser. There are safer and better alternatives available. I recommend Firefox.
Unfortunately, IE has some serious issues on the security and it has bad vulnerablities. Get Firefox..This is must have, if you won't get it, your PC will be in DANGER.

Here's some tips for future to prevent spyware;

Few more good tools;
  • Spywareguard <= SpywareGuard offers realtime protection from spyware installation attempts.
  • MVPS Hosts file <= The MVPS Hosts file replaces your current HOSTS file with one containing well know ad sites etc. Basically, this prevents your computer from connecting to those sites by redirecting them to 127.0.0.1 which is your local computer
And for little more ideas, see this article;

So how did I get infected in the first place? (My favourite)

How is the system running?

(Remember to keep Microsoft updates up-to-date, your PC will not be much of a use for you if you don't.)

Ok. Be sure to use your Norton version. (would be good to make sure it's updated.)

Make sure you look at the Anti-malware solutions there.. And uninstall unneeded software.

If you are still having problems, can you give the details and I'll ask for a trusted tech to come by and see if he has any ideas?

KK, sorry it took me a while. Left town for a wedding and came back. My gaming is still sluggish. I still have to put all BF 2 settings on low. Web page scrolling is still slow as well. I have Zonelabs now, it caused a riot with my windows SP 2 firewall. I turned off the windows firewall now so Zonelabs could do its job. Adware- dectects programs trying to install themselves and requests if I want to block them... I block them and somehow the programs still install themselves. Nail.exe kept trying to be installed even though zone alarm is on my hardrive. It forced Adwatch to lock up evey time I blocked it..... Its not looking pretty atm.

Epolvy trojan is back.. Please don't reboot unless I ask you to.

Please disable Spywareguard.
Double-click the red SG icon in your system tray.
Click Options.
Under General Uncheck all 3 options, then click "Save Settings"
Close Spywareguard.
We will enable in once your system is clean.

Run a scan with HiJackThis and check the following objects for removal:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [myziju] c:\windows\system32\zjpekav.exe r
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [rmwfkq] c:\windows\system32\jfhkaer.exe r
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Shrkvkar] C:\WINDOWS\system32\w?nlogon.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Wioa] C:\Program Files\cdme\teib.exe

Close any other open windows except for HiJackThis and click FIX CHECKED.
  • Immediately delete the following files from your system32 folder.
  • c:\windows\system32\jfhkaer.exe
    c:\windows\system32\zjpekav.exe
Delete the following files:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\w?nlogon.exe
C:\Program Files\cdme\teib.exe

Then empty recycle bin.

Please download Trend Micro™ Anti-Spyware for the Web Utility (by clicking the "Scan and Clean your PC" button).
  • Save it to your desktop.
  • Double-click the new icon on your desktop (tmas-web-scan.exe)
  • It will say "Loading TrendMicro definitions".
  • Once the definitions are loaded, the program will appear to close then re-open.
  • Click "Start Scan"
  • After it's done scanning, click "Scan Results"
  • Make sure all items found have a check next to them, then click "Clean Threats Now".
  • Click Exit.
Reboot your computer. In place of the TrendMicro icon will be a text file called "Antispyware.log", please double-click that log and copy the entire contents and paste them here.
