This is what's going on. I'm trying to fix a relative's computer. She had tons of spyware and hijackers that I got rid of with ad-aware and spybot S&D. That fixed a bunch, but still there are a few things fishy. I updatd windows messenger from microsoft's website, but keep getting a messege telling me I need to update it. When I click "yes" it updates, but the next time I boot up I get the update messege again. Also there are three images integrated with the background that won't go away. They stick around even if I change the background. Plus, McAfee keeps getting disabled at startup. I ran a virus scan from trend's website, but that didn't do the trick.
