Hey guys I just need a few suggestions and some help

I have an hp pc. It's Pretty new, athlon 3000+, 512mb ram (pc2700 333mhz), but just a geforce mx 4000 64mb. I want to upgrade the ram and the video card as I just did the sound card.

Any suggestions as to what to upgrade in those 2 catagories? I am looking to spend not too much. My cousin was going to sell me a stick of 512mb for a good price. but i have 2 sticks of 256mb taking up my slots.

here's some info on my motherboard:

Board: ASUSTeK Computer INC. A7N8X-LA Rev 1.xx
Serial Number: X312345678
Bus Clock: 166 megahertz
BIOS: American Megatrends Inc. 3.13 08/13/200

i am not sure exactly how to tell what kind it is.

any suggestions? thanks!

Well your computer should be compatible with pc3200 speed ram so you have lots of ram options for lots of price ranges. GET cpu z to check what graphical interface you have on your computer.

Well for a budget I'd like to keep it relatively low. Under 200.

I got cpu-z. Thanks that was very helpful. :-)

well for under 200 bucks and for a agp card.. i'd go with trying to get a radeon 9600 XT or a 9800 thats under 200 as for ram.. a stick of 256 and 512 is more than 2x 256 sticks so go for the little extra if you can. I suppose you can't get any better processor for the socket type on your mobo. Maybe if you wanna invest in some good cooling parts and overclock that processor a bit?
