After exhausting all Canon's ideas for installing their software on my computer, I have been told by their tech guys that XP is at the root of the problem. I am not experienced enough to be able to solve this myself but if anyone is familiar with the problem, perhaps a solution comes to mind.

Hello, I own a Canon digital camera myself, but never used the particular software you refer to. Perhaps I cannot help you with installing it, but maybe I can point you to other alternative software you could use.

I tend not to use Canon software except the USB driver, and Photostitch.

BTW, what kind of errors are you coming up with that stops the installation?
