Hi,

My computer is suffering from so many problems right now I don't know where to start. So here are some that I am aware of:

- For months the computer has been reseting (physical memory dump) itself daily for the last six months. Somehow this was related to the HP memories drive, but no solution was identified.

- I have Norton Anti-virus 2003, lately it hasn't been loading, won't work and can't be updated. It is symantec error 1004,5

- Every time I log in I recieve a message about PROGRA~1\NEWDOT~1\NEWDOT~2.DLL

- Programs get out of themselves such as IE

- I have been atempting to scan with Hijack This to post a log, but Hijack This even gets out of itself.

PLEASE HELP.

NEWDOT~2.DLL is malware.
Please go to the malware forum and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the CLICK HERE .

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- then post a hijackthis log in THAT forum.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.

Not sure about your first problem but I had a similar problem a couple of weeks ago where I could not get Norton AV to load.

Somehow I managed to get a virus on my laptop and I could no longer load it.

Basically, I had to re-load windows in Safe Mode and run a registry fixer from the Norton Anti-Virus website, I was then able to start Norton AV (still in Windows Safe Mode) and get a full scan on my system.

If you have got the same problem as I had then go here: Symantec and click on "Check the computer for viruses" and then click "Automated Support Assistant"

Hope this helps you out...

jonjuk,
This is a malware issue, no-one (including me) is allowed to give malware advise, other than the Malware experts and in the Malware Forums.
