DW-U14A Drive Prob.

Ive had this DVD RW Drive for a while and ive never really used it for anything DVD related. So then i wanted to back up stuff on DVD-R's and it seems that it doesnt Recognize any DVD-R's. I made sure it was compatible and updated the firmware and it still doesnt recognize. I also noticed that my PC doesnt recognize the drive it self as a DVD-RW drive, but instead a DVD/CD-ROM drive. It burns CDs and such but it Wont recognize DVD-Rs.

Help Plz.
