Hello for the pas little while I have been trying to connect two computers together with an ethernet cable (both running windows xp) I have followed all of the instructions and nothing seems to work could someone please help.

are you going through any connecting device or just directly pc to pc?

then you need a crossover cable.... but why not use a switch, since they are so cheap now.
