I've gone through all the steps required before posting a log. Heck, I even thought I had it fixed...until a day later I got the same popup. I did manage to clean out a bunch of the popups and now only receive one with my "search results". It general pops up after launching IE for the first time after a reboot. I don't have a screen capture or anything, but I will get one the next time, just in case.

Here is my HJT log

Welcome to the Geeks To Go forum.:tazz:

Click Start > Run > type services.msc, then click OK
Scroll down and right click on 'Windows VisFx Components'
Select 'Properties' and set the "Service Status" option to "Stop"
Set "Startup type" to "Disabled", click Apply, then OK.

Step 1

Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite from here. Install it and update the program with the latest definitions. Setup the program following the instructions here and then close it without running a scan. We'll use it in Safe Mode.

Please download Nailfix from here.
Unzip it to the desktop but please do NOT run it yet.

Step 2

Reboot into Safe Mode and double-click Nailfix.cmd.
A window should open and close very quickly (this is normal).

Step 3

Then please run Ewido security suite, and perform a full system scan.
Remove anything found, and save the logfile from the scan, I'll ask you to post it here for me later.

Step 4

Then click on Start | Run and type cleanmgr into the run box.
Make sure Temporary Files, Temporary Internet Files and Recycle Bin ONLY are checkmarked and click 'OK'.
Then click on Start | Run, and type %temp% and press the ok button.
This will open up the temp directory that your machine uses.
Please delete all files that are found there.

Step 5

Run HijackThis again and place a check before the following entry:

F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell=Explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [cfgmgr52] RunDLL32.EXE C:\WINDOWS\cfgmgr52.dll,DllRun
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Sysnet] C:\DOCUME~1\JENNIF~1.SAU\LOCALS~1\Temp\sysnet.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [CMAPP] "C:\Program Files\CMAPP\Client\cmappclient.exe"
O16 - DPF: {62475759-9E84-458E-A1AB-5D2C442ADFDE} - http://a1540.g.akama...meInstaller.exe
O16 - DPF: {CAFECAFE-0013-0001-0009-ABCDEFABCDEF} (JInitiator 1.3.1.9) - http://eplt.nn.k12.v...iator/jinit.exe
O23 - Service: Windows VisFx Components - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\dozgsvc.exe (file missing)

Close ALL OPEN WINDOWS except for HijackThis and click Fix Checked.

Then navigate to and delete these files\folders in BOLD

C:\WINDOWS\cfgmgr52.dll
C:\Program Files\CMAPP<----folder

Step 6

Restart your computer in normal mode and post a fresh HijackThis log and Ewido log.

ok. Sorry for taking so long to get back to you. I followed the above steps. I have attached a fresh HJT log and the ewido log from step 3. A couple of notes first. In step 5 the following entries were not listed:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [cfgmgr52] RunDLL32.EXE C:\WINDOWS\cfgmgr52.dll,DllRun

O23 - Service: Windows VisFx Components - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\dozgsvc.exe (file missing)

Nor could I find the file C:\windows\cfgmgr52.dll (there was a cfgmgr52.ini file)

Here are the logs:

Rerun HJT,and put a checkmark beside these :-

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [CMAPP] "C:\Program Files\CMAPP\Client\cmappclient.exe"

now close all windows and browsers and click FIX CHECKED

that looks clean now.:tazz:

DISABLE SYSTEM RESTORE run your anti virus, when you get the all clear
restart your system restore.(same page).then create a new restore point :-

click START\ALL PROGRAMS\ACCESSORIES\SYSTEM TOOLS\SYSTEM RESTORE. click on "create new restore point"
click on NEXT and follow the prompts.

this is to ensure that if you have to do a system restore in the future that you don't get all the nasties reinstalled again.

Then

Go to TOOLS\INTERNET OPTIONS. and delete all TEMP INTERNET FILES

Download CCLEANER

then run the scan under the windows tab.

then DEFRAG your C:\ drive.

to help speed up your system.

then let us know how the computer is running.
