Cd burner not working.....

Hi guys!

For about a year now my cd burner hasn't been working right..it won't burn a music CD...I've used different programs, tried different speeds, tried different discs....nothing!

It'll burn programs and files on the CD fine, but not music! I dont know why. It goes through the cycle, but when it gets to "finalizing (sp?)" it gets an error! Help!

Hi. Have you gone to the drive manufacturers web page and checked for a firmware update? Have you gone to the software vendor's web page and searched for updates? I use Roxio and from time to time, they do have update that address both software and firmware issues. If you can't find a solution throught these sources, I suggest replacing the drive.
