A friend asked me to fix her laptop, as it just kept "jamming" up. Used CCleaner, Ad-Aware, Norton Anti-Virus, WinsockXPFix, CWShredder, Spybot S&D. I removed a number of items, but I just can't seem to remove 2 last adaware's and the browser continues to get hijacked. She had IE 6 installed originally, but i put Firefox in to try and help me. I had to do a full reformat before all of this, as the viruses in her computer wouldn't allow me to do anything, had to actually change the boot order of the system to get the reformat started. I have d/l all windows updates including SP2, I have run Liveupdate a number of times to get all necessary updates there as well. I have had this laptop for a week now, and I just can't fix the last of the problems. PLEASE HELP

Hi and welcome to GeeksToGo! My name is Sam and I will be helping you. :tazz:

I see you are running Hijackthis from your desktop. Please create a directory on your c: drive called c:\hijackthis and move hijackthis into that directory. Run the program from that directory from now on. It is essential that you follow these steps or certain important features of the program will not function correctly.

Once you have Hijackthis running from a within a folder please reboot and post a new hijackthis log.
