Does anyone know what updatees.exe is for? I am working on a computer that uses MSN for its ISP. WHen I log in and get on the internet, a dos box pops up with c:/updatees.exe but it doesn't do anything. I can't find the entry anywhere in the registry to remove it.

Any thoughts?

Please go here:

http://www.geekstogo..._Log-t2852.html

Run all the programmes as advised then post a current Hijack This Log to the Malware Team

Because this lists update.exe as undesireable

I've run across several update.exe files, some were malware, some were associated with legitimate programs in the computer. Locate the folder the file is in and see whether it is legitimate. You can set the folder view by date and see what other files were downloaded at the same time.

OK, I see that it's in C:, if a dos box pops up, open your config.sys and autoexec.bat files, you'll probably see that that is where it is initiated.
