I am having a problem with my new Flat Screen Monitor stretching everything. The aspect ratio is much longer than a normal screen and it stretches all of my applications. I have Windows XP and its a Acer AL1913W monitor. In all of the programs where I use graphics like PhotoShop or Publisher everything looks fat. I do alot of print publications and I need the proportions to be correct. Help!!!

Go into Display Properties and set the resolution to a '4:3' ratio as used on regular format monitors (eg 1024 x 768 or 1280 x 960). You'll have a black band down each side I expect when you do this, and picture quality may suffer cos you're not using the native resolution of the monitor. Widescreen for the PC was a daft idea cos, unlike TV, no-one actually makes applications to view properly in that format except for DVD-video.
