When Dell Dim. 4100 boots it pauses with black and white screen discribing the computer with message at bottom that says press Del key to continue. A normal boot up follows after pressing the del key.
Could this be a hard drive problem??

Yes the computer does not have a virus or spyware infection.

Try swapping out your cmos battery.
