Thank you so much for trying to help me. It won't let me post my both.log because it is too long. Here is the beginning of it, if that will help at all.

Let's weed out the worst of it.

Click Start > Run > copy this command in the dialog box and click OK
regedit /e c:\HKLMrun.txt "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run"

Doing that will create the file c:\HKLMrun.txt
Please check if that is true before you proceed.

Then copy the part in bold below into notepad and save it as rebuild.reg
Set filetype to "All files"

Doubleclick that file and confirm you want to merge it with the registry.

Reboot into safe mode and delete:
C:\PROGRAM FILES\COMMON FILES\Toolbar <= entire folder

Boot back to normal and make another BOTHLOG.

That should be a lot smaller now.

OK I'll do this in as little steps as possible. It will take a little longer but I don't want to undermine your newfound confidence. :tazz:

Please download this file: Nailfix Utility
Save it to your desktop.
DO NOT run it yet.

Then disable Teatimer as described here:
http://russelltexas....re/teatimer.htm

Next, please reboot your computer in SafeMode by doing the following:
  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, start tapping press F8 key.
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
  • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.
Once in Safe Mode, please double-click on nailfix.exe.
Click "Next" in the setup, then make sure "Run Nailfix" is checked and click "Finish".
Your desktop and icons will disappear and reappear, and a window should open and close very quickly --- this is normal.

Now scan with HJT and place a checkmark next to each of the following items:

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell=Explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {5C8B2A36-3DB1-42A4-A3CB-D426709BBFEB} - (no file)

O2 - BHO: WinStat - {EE02B99B-1D55-48bc-B8DB-649A42CE45F6} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\WinStat12.dll (file missing)

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [cB4nRTiFl] ricgnt5.exe

O15 - Trusted Zone: http://www.neededware.com
O16 - DPF: NDWCab - http://www.neededware.com/ndw3.cab

Then boot back to normal and post a new log.

I'm having trouble finding SP2. I haven't given up yet. There are a lot of updates listed. None with the name service pack 2.
