Recently my Windows Media Player stopped playing MPEGS. Whatever happened after I got a "funny" MPEG from a family member.

When I tried to play it (and all others later) the page came up...it showed it was playing for about 3 seconds...then "stopped".

I found out today it will play WMV's.

I downloaded Media Player 10...installed it with no improvement.

The player will play DVD's with no problem.

Where to look next???

Same for me. My players will not play any type of video format at all.
It freezes and all i can do is reset.
Atleast mp3s still work ;)

Well you can try to reinstall your video driver and your codecs just in case as i read somewhere it fixed many problems. Also if you have nvidia try and use the old one and not 77.72 .
77.72 has loads of errors as far as i know :tazz:
