hot keys are the ultimate in laziness and convinience in computing... here is just a basic list for windows XP (feel free to add)

alt tab [press at same time](cycle through programs)
shift alt tab [press at same time](reverse the way programs are cycled through)
alt esc [press at same time] (move between programs that have been viewed through alt tab)
ctrl esc [press at same time] (another way of bringing up start menu)
start m [press at same time] (minimize all present windows)
start u u (quickly shut off computer)
start l s (quickly switch users)
