Please print out these instructions or copy them into a text file on your Desktop for easy access.

During the fix, u will be asked to fix some entries, delete some files or uninstall some programs. If in case, you do not see those entries / files / programs, please make a note of it. Continue with the fix and in your next post please inform me of all deviations from the fix prescribed.

1. Download Programs

Please download these programs and save them in a new folder on your desktop -

CleanUp
Ewido Security Suite

Install Ewido, and update the definitions to the newest files. Do NOT run a scan yet.


2. Remove Infections

Restart the PC in Safe Mode (repeatedly tap the F8 key when the PC is starting up).

Run CleanUp and delete all temp files including temporary internet files

Run Ewido full scan. Let it fix any items it finds.

3. Run Hijack This

Run Hijack This and click on scan. The following items need to be fixed -

R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,HomeOldSP = about:blank
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {FB0C151A-D3F0-D377-844F-8B1D8A4640E7} - C:\WINNT\system32\ucht.dll (file missing)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [wvohgf] C:\WINNT\system32\hsddevlxoqssd.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [sp] rundll32 C:\DOCUME~1\sales\LOCALS~1\Temp\se.dll,DllInstall

Close all windows other than Hijack This. Check the boxes next to above items and click on Fix checked.

4. Delete Rogue files

Open Windows Explorer (right click on Start and then click on explore). Locate and delete the following folders and files -

C:\WINNT\system32\hsddevlxoqssd.exe


Clear out the files in the Prefetch folder. Go to start> run> type into the box Prefetch. It will open the folder Prefetch. Delete all the files in that folder. Dont delete the folder, only the files in it !!!!!!!!


Reboot the PC in Normal Mode.


Run Hijack This and post a fresh HJT log along with Ewido scan report.

I really appreciate the help you are giving me as without it I'd be well and truely stuck. I have attempted to do what you suggested as well as I could. I couldn't find a prefetch folder and for some reason Ewido doesn't update properly. Here are the two reports you asked for:

Right click on it and then click on Install.

Download L2mfix from one of these two locations:

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

Thank you so much for sorting that out for me . Although the problem has now gone when I am logged on as myself . If the PC is logged onto by the other user, Winfix still appears .
It is probably something that I have done. I kind of assumed that by fixing the problem as me it would mean that it would go away completely. I'm sorry to cause you more grief.

It is quite possible that the infection is there in multiple login profiles (Doesnt mean that one profile gets it all will get them).

Can you login in the other profile and post a fresh HJT log ??

Please print out these instructions or copy them into a text file on your Desktop for easy access.

During the fix, u will be asked to fix some entries, delete some files or uninstall some programs. If in case, you do not see those entries / files / programs, please make a note of it. Continue with the fix and in your next post please inform me of all deviations from the fix prescribed.

1. Download Programs

Please download these programs and save them in a new folder on your desktop -

CleanUp

DelDomains.inf

2. Run Hijack This

Run Hijack This and click on scan. The following items need to be fixed -

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,HomeOldSP = about:blank
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Cqoj] C:\WINNT\system32\r?gsvr32.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Seot] C:\Program Files\phes\lbhs.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [NI.UWFX5LP_0001_0803] "C:\WINNT\Downloaded Program Files\UWFX5LP_0001_0803NetInstaller.exe"

Close all windows other than Hijack This. Check the boxes next to above items and click on Fix checked.

Restart the PC in Safe Mode (repeatedly tap the F8 key when the PC is starting up).


3. Delete Rogue files

Run CleanUp and delete all temp files including temporary internet files

Run Ewido full scan. Let it fix any items it finds.

Open Windows Explorer (right click on Start and then click on explore). Locate and delete the following folders and files -

Folders
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Seot] C:\Program Files\phes

Files
C:\WINNT\Downloaded Program Files\UWFX5LP_0001_0803NetInstaller.exe

C:\WINNT\system32\r?gsvr32.exe (please donot delete the file regsvr32.exe. If there are two instances of the file then please make a note of the file ssizes and the date they were created in your next post)



Right click on DelDomains.inf and then click on Install.


Clear out the files in the Prefetch folder. Go to start> run> type into the box Prefetch. It will open the folder Prefetch. Delete all the files in that folder. Dont delete the folder, only the files in it !!!!!!!!


Reboot the PC in Normal Mode.


Run Hijack This and post a fresh HJT log along with Ewido scan report.
