Hi, my friend has a floppy disc he's been using to save his novel on, he formatted it before he first saved, and it worked fine for months, now it's saying it needs to be re-formatted. And if he does that he will lose all his work. I tried copying the contents on it to another floppy and it didnt copy it all the way, the file shows up on the new floppy but it wont open, only half the file size is on it. Is there anyway to save the floppy or is it gone forever? thanks..

EEK. Never save important stuff to floppies. They are notorious for going bad. Try running a scandisk/chkdsk on the disk with the option of trying to recover data from bad sectors. Then try copying the data again to a hard drive. If that still doesn't work, there is software on the internet that helps you recover data from bad floppy disks.
