Hi,

I have followed these Aurora pop ups happening quite frequently. It appears that there is a file that the anti-adwire viruses attempt to clean but can not. I have performed the following:

1. Ran "CleanUp!" per your instructions
2. Ran Ad-aware SE per your instructions
3. Ran CWShredder per your instructions
4. Ran Spybot S&D per your instructions - This one had a problem cleaning a file that was obviously from this Aurora company. It tried to run durring startup as well and was unable to clean it.
5. Ran Ewido - This was also able to clean most of it . . . but still one file unable to be cleaned. I am including the log:

I have a HIJACK THIS log now. Note that ewido keeps giving me cleaning warnings and apparently deletes stuff. It appears to be minimizing the popups . . . but I can tell that the Aurora software and ewido are duking it out!

Do this for me please!

Make sure Windows and Showing Hidden Files
http://www.bleepingc...ut62.html#winxp

See if you can locate these 2 files

C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\DC3A39.EXE

and

C:\WINDOWS\system32\srpvnh.exe

Post back and let me know, you may need to be in Safe Mode to see those!

I searched for those two files and I could not find them.

Also, I was not able to log into my computer in Safe mode. I used F8 and it went to a log in screen. But my log in password is apparently not the same password I use when I log in normally. Probably something to do with our IT groups administrative control. I'll but them about it.

Since I first reported the problem, there has been a windows update and Ewido has been combating the problem. For the last 2 days I have not had any Aurora pop ups . .. so maybe the problem is actually fixed. I'll give it a couple more days and if they don't come back i'll suggest closing this topic.

Thank you for your help.

I cant imagine this problem fixing itself so lets take so more measures to ensure the PC is clean!

Download this Temp File cleaner and Run it just before you run CleanUp!

CCleaner:
http://www.filehippo...d_ccleaner.html

Open CCleaner and Click Run Cleaner and let it do its thing!

Open CleanUp!-> Click the CleanUp tab and let it do its thing-> When prompted to log off-> Do So!

Last lets get a hefty Reg Cleaner and move out all dead registry entries!

RegSupreme Pro
http://majorgeeks.co..._Pro_d4256.html

Once downloaded and launched,Click Yes to Update the Cache-> Click "Registry Cleaner"-> Click "Aggresive" and "Start"-> Fix everything it finds-> Name the Backup it creates and Save it somewhere safe!

Run MSCONFIG and enable everything in the startup area. To get to MSCONFIG, click on Start -> Run -> type in MSCONFIG -> click OK!

Under the "General" Tab
Make Sure Normal Startup is Checked!!

Click Apply>>Close>>Follow the Prompts to Restart!!

Restart Normal and have the PC Scanned here:
Panda Active Scan

You will need to be using Internet Explorer for the Scan to work!

Save the Report it generates

Post back with a fresh HijackThis log and the report from Panda!
