You have a trojan, among many other problems. Please follow the instructions, including running adaware even though you ran it again. If you did not purchase spyhunter, go in add/remove programs and uninstallit.

You have a number of randomonly named files on your system. We like to start with an online virus and trojan scan. Even though you have antivirus software on your system, it can become corrupted by malware.

Please run a free online virus scan here (tick the "Auto Clean" checkbox):
http://housecall.antivirus.com/

And a free trojan scan here:
http://www.moosoft.com/

[

Download Ad-aware from: http://www.geekstogo...n=download&id=5

Install the program and launch it.

First, in the main window, look in the bottom right corner and click on Check for updates now and download the latest reference files.

Next, we need to configure Ad-aware for a full scan.

-> Click on the Gear icon (second from the left) to access the preferences/settings window

1. In the General window make sure the following are selected:
  • Automatically save log-file
  • Automatically quarantine objects prior to removal
  • Safe Mode (always request confirmation)
2. Click on the Scanning button on the left and select :
  • Scan Within Archives
  • Scan Active Processes
  • Scan Registry
  • Deep Scan Registry
  • Scan my IE favorites for banned URL’s
  • Scan my Hosts file
  • Under Click here to select drives + folders, choose:
  • All of your hard drives
-> Click on the Advanced button on the left and select:
  • Include additional process information
  • Include additional file information
  • Include environment information
  • Include additional object details
-> Click the Tweak button and select:
  • Under the Scanning Engine:
    • Unload recognized processes during scanning
    • Include basic Ad-aware settings in logfile
    • Include additional Ad-aware settings in logfile
  • Under the Cleaning Engine:
    • Let Windows remove files in use at next reboot
-> Click on Proceed to save the settings.

-> Click Start and on the next screen choose Activate in-depth Scan at the bottom of the page and then choose:
  • Use Custom Scanning Options
-> Click Next and Ad-aware will scan your hard drive(s) with the options you have selected.

-> Save the log file when it asks and then click Finish

-> When finished, mark everything for removal and get rid of it. (Right-click the window and choose Select All from the drop down menu and click Next).

Please delete your temporary files by deleting all files and folders that are in those folders (do not delete the temp folder itself) like for example
C:\WINDOWS\Temp\
C:\Temp\
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temp\
Also delete your Temporary Internet Files, be sure to also select delete all offline content.

-> Reboot your computer.

If you would please, rescan with HijackThis and post a fresh log in this same topic.

I followed all the instructions you gave. There were a couple of the checks in adaware that I did not see but hopefully this doesnt make much difference. :D

Also I was unable to Scan my disk for Viruses using the link provided, did not execute the downloaded file. This was also the same with the trojan scan?

After following all previous instructions after I logged in Internet Browser attempted to open 3 windows.

Here is the new log as requested, am I closer to killing all this crap or what? :D

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.

R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page = C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\blank.htm

Please reboot into safe mode (continually tap the F8 key while your system is starting, select Safe Mode from the menu).
Be sure you're able to view hidden files, and remove the following files in bold (if found):
c:\windows\system32\audiocntl.exe
c:\windows\system32\msass43.exe
c:\windows\system32\videocntl.exe

Please delete your temporary files. Double Click My Computer (WinXP: Navigate to Start --->My Computer)
You will see an icon representing your harddrive (most likely C: Drive) Right Click on the hard drive icon and click Properties at the
bottom of the fly out window. One the very first tab (General) you will see a button labeled "Disk Cleanup"...click that button.
Make sure the following are checked:
Downloaded Program Files
Temporary Internet Files and
Recycle Bin

Click OK and Disk Cleanup will delete those files for you.

Reboot your PC.

If you would please, rescan with HijackThis and post a fresh log in this same topic, and let us know how your system's working. <_<

Thanks for the response. I followed all the above requests. Was not able to locate any files that fit the description c:\windows\system32\audiocntl.exe
c:windows\system32\msass43.exe
c:windows\system32\videocntl.exe

I did find msass43, but it was not in the same location. also videocntl. After exe. there were a series of numbers. I did not remove either file.

After restarting my comp, The same windows opened again. I was redirected to Slotch.com. What am I needing to do here? Still need to run scanvirus but will log the results ASAP.

Here are the results of Hijackthis. :D

msass43.exe-235D1B5A.pf was the only file I found that fit the description when I searched files on c:

I deleted it.

Did you mean for me to download scanforvirus, because I was not sure. I do have Norton antivirus and dont want to delete that without express consent. Trying to follow along as best I can but seem to be going backwards. Sorry <_<

I was unable to use the full system scanner as I do not use Internet Explorer. These were the suspicious folders that keep reappearing. Please help me fix this. I was getting popups last night while playing online <_<

After scanning my system using Norton anti virus and letting it delete all it could. left 6 files. this is the hijack this log. Meaningless to me except I know I can still see some of the problem files there. How do I need to remove this fully? Please read above post as well it contains Virus scans on selected files, from Kapersky.com. Thanks for the help so far <_< . Now lets kill this crap once and for ALL!
