I have 3 PC's at home - all running XP PRO. 2 of the three can see each other when clicking on "VIEW WORKGROUP COMPUTERS". My Laptop doesnt see other PCs. In fact, when you click on VIEW WORKGROUP COMPUTERS, Nothing happens. It should at least show itsself.

What am I missing?

They are all in the same workgroup, same gateway, subnet etc.

It seems to be something with the operating system? is there a component that needs to be reloaded?

Im stumped

Yes, the computer should list iteslf. If not, you have a configuration issue. check this page,

The computer doesn't show itself in Workgroup - "Workgroup is not accessible"
