Hello and welcome! ;)

Please download the l2mfix from one of the locations below;

http://www.atribune....oads/l2mfix.exe

http://www.downloads....org/l2mfix.exe

Save the file to your desktop and double-click l2mfix.exe

Click the Install - button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop.

Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log.

Copy the contents of that log and paste it into your next reply.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until I ask you to!

Note; if you recieve any error messages for CMD or Autoexec.bat>> select option 5 from the l2mfix and once at the site, click on the link that apply to your operating system!

Double-click the file it downloads and extract the files to its predetermined System32 folder!

Close any programs you have open since this step requires a reboot.

From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double-click l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix by typing 2 and then pressing enter, then press any key to reboot your computer. After a reboot, your desktop and icons will appear, then disappear (this is normal). L2mfix will continue to scan your computer and when it's finished, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it back into this thread, along with a new hijackthis log, and we'll clean up what's left.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder unless you are asked to do so!

Hi again!

Looks good. ;)

Run a scan with HijackThis and check the following objects for removal;

O16 - DPF: {15AD6789-CDB4-47E1-A9DA-992EE8E6BAD6} - http://static.windup.../bridge-c18.cab

Close any other open windows and/or open browsers, making sure only HijackThis is running. Click on Fix Checked.

Exit HijackThis and reboot.

Run this online scan;

Panda Activescan

Post it's results here.

Then post this too;
  • Open HiJackThis

Hey again,

This is a bit of a problem....
During the scan with Panda, the tool shows 4 spy ware-, and 2 hacker problems. The tool however exits spontaneously, without reporting on details. I retried multiple times, and never got to the end. :tazz:

Please find the uninstall list from HijackThis, as you requested:

The panda behavior is weird, certainly knowing that yesterday I have been using other online scanners which did the job fine. However, they didn't report on the remaining spyware, neither on the hacker software, while it probably wasn't on my PC yet....

First thing I want to do is, to update your version of Mozilla Firefox. You are several updates behind.. First, surf here; http://www.mozilla.org/

Download the installer for version 1.0.6.

Don't install it quite yet. Then, go to -> Start -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove programs and uninstall this entry;

Mozilla Firefox (1.0)

Let it uninstall all components.

Run the 1.0.6 - installer.

Now update your Java 2 Runtime Environment;

1. Click Start > Control Panel.

2. Double-click the Java icon (coffee cup) in the control panel. It will say "Java Plug-in" under the icon - please find the update button or tab in that Java control panel. Update your Java, and reboot.

If the updating doesn't work, can you uninstall your current version of Java, then install the latest one here;
http://www.java.com/...windows_xpi.jsp

Now, can you run the Panda scan again.. The results should be shown at the site where you launch the scan. The actual scanning window will close everytime it completes the scanning. Post me the results.

Hey Rawe,

I once had a boss, whit an always correct answer: "yes but no".

He's here...LOL
;)

BTW he's Japanese
:tazz:

I upgraded java and firefox successfully.
I tried panda from within firefox, no luck, this is not compatible.

I tried Panda from within InternetExplorer, and it goes wrong again. Both Panda browser windows vanish long before the scan can be finished.
The only thing I will try now, is to scan only fragments of both discs.

I'll keep you informed.

Thx anyway.

No problem, there is a lot more online scans we can do than Panda. ;)

Download and install CleanUp! Here

Run the CleanUp! installer. You dont need to do anything with the program right now.

Let's do this;

Please download WebRoot SpySweeper from HERE (It's a 2 week trial):
  • Click the Free Trial link on the right - next to "SpySweeper for Home Computers" to download the program.
  • Double-click the file to install it as follows:
  • Click "Next", read the agreement, Click "Next"
  • Choose "Custom" click "Next".
  • Leave the default installation directoy as it is, then click "Next".
  • UNcheck "Run SpySweeper at Windows Startup" and "Add Sweep for Spyware to Windows Explorer Context Menu". Click "Next".
  • On the following screen you can leave the e-mail address field blank, if you wish. Click "Next".
  • Finally, click "Install"
  • Once the program is installed, it will open.
  • It will prompt you to update to the latest definitions, click Yes.
Disable SpySweeper Shields
  • Click Shields on the left.
  • Click Internet Explorer and uncheck all items.
  • Click Windows System and uncheck all items.
  • Click Startup Programs and uncheck all items.
  • Once the definitions are installed and shields disabled, exit SpySweeper.
Now run the CleanUp program:

*IMPORTANT NOTE*
CleanUp deletes EVERYTHING out of your temp/temporary folders, it does not make backups.
If you have any documents or programs that are saved in any Temporary Folders, please make a backup of these before running CleanUp

Running CleanUp
  • Start CleanUp by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu).
  • When CleanUp starts go to the Options button (right side of CleanUp screen)
  • Move the arrow down to "Custom CleanUp!"
  • Now place a checkmark next to the following (Make sure nothing else is checked!):
    • Delete Cookies
      This is optional, if you leave the box checked it will remove all of your cookies, at this point removing cookies is a good idea
    • Empty Recycle Bins
    • Delete Prefetch files
    • Cleanup! All Users
  • Click OK
  • Then click on the CleanUp button. This will take a short while, let it do its thing.
  • When asked to reboot system select No
  • Close CleanUp
Disable System Restore;

1. Click Start > Programs > Accessories > Windows Explorer
2. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
3. Click the System Restore tab.
4. Check the "Turn off System Restore"
5. Click Apply. An message shows up.
6. Click "Yes" to do this.
7. Confirm with "Ok".

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

Once in Safe Mode, launch SpySweeper:
  • Click Sweep Now on the left side.
  • Click the Start button.
  • When it's done scanning, click the Next button.
  • Make sure everything has a check next to it, then click the Next button.
  • It will remove all of the items found.
  • Click Session Log in the upper right corner, copy everything in that window.
  • Click the Summary tab and click Finish.
  • Paste the contents of the session log you copied into your next reply.
Reboot into normal mode.

Enable System Restore;

1. Click Start.
2. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
3. Click the System Restore tab.
4. Uncheck the "Turn off System Restore" check box.
5. Click Apply, and then click "OK".

System Restore will now be active again. :) Be sure to set a new restore point.

Post me the SpySweeper session log along with a fresh HiJackThis log.

Just a quick question:
which directories are most likely to contain problems?
Fact is that I suppose that the Panda problem is due to the time it takes to scan, in combination with a time out or something.
In panda you can select a single directory instead of a drive, but you can't select a group of directories. So this is going to take me forever...

Looks really good now.

Please do an online scan with Kaspersky WebScanner

Next Click on Launch Kaspersky Anti-Virus Web Scanner

You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.
  • The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
  • Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
  • Now click on Scan Settings
  • In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
    • Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
    Standard
    • Scan Options:
    Scan Archives
    Scan Mail Bases
  • Click OK
  • Now under select a target to scan:Select My Computer
  • This program will start to scan your system.
  • The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
  • Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
    • Now click on the Save as Text button:
  • Save the file to your desktop.
  • Copy and paste that information in your next post.
Please download Trend Micro™ Anti-Spyware for the Web Utility (by clicking the "Scan and Clean your PC" button).
  • Save it to your desktop.
  • Double-click the new icon on your desktop (tmas-web-scan.exe)
  • It will say "Loading TrendMicro definitions".
  • Once the definitions are loaded, the program will appear to close then re-open.
  • Click "Start Scan"
  • After it's done scanning, click "Scan Results"
  • Make sure all items found have a check next to them, then click "Clean Threats Now".
  • Click Exit.
Reboot your computer. In place of the TrendMicro icon will be a text file called "Antispyware.log", please double-click that log and copy the entire contents and paste them here.

Post both of the logs in a reply.
