is the ATI Radeon X300SE with 128MB DDR memory; PCI-E
a better card than the radeon 9200?

i read some reviews and as far as i can gather the x300 isn't a very good card for gaming and it also borrows from the system ram. I just wanted to see if that was right or not and if i should switch the x300 in my new computer for my 9200

I think there are various models of the x300. I think the one that borrows system memory is known as HyperMemory™. I believe you can get x300 with dedicated ram.

Note that even some of the x600 are coming out with the HyperMemory™ tag. These graphic cards are slightly cheaper than the ones with dedicated memory.

I think the x300 is ATI's entry into PCI-Express graphics cards. I think it is probably okay if you are on a budget.
