[jermdogMCD]

I have been having so many pop-ups, and it's been making it impossible to do anything on the computer! They even come up when I have the internet lock engaged, so I presume the [bleep] things are installed on my computer. I've tried ad-aware, spy-bot, and CWSearch. I've also used Norton Internet Security 2005 to scan for viruses, and I have ZoneAlarm as a second firewall. They still keep getting through! Please help me! Any idea would be great! I've looked through msconfig to no avail. Oh, and an extra side note... I have a file called ezstub.exe on my desktop. Now this will sound strange, but that file is a dummy (I created it in notepad and saved it as an executable). However, now I can't delete the stupid thing! I've even tried booting up in safe mode and using Window Washer to delete it, but have had no luck. Anyways, I WANT TO GET RID OFF WINFIXER POPUPS! Here's my hijackthis file

• Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop.
• Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter.
  • This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log.
• Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

Please read "ALL" of the instructions before proceeding:

Now we need to do the next part of the fix.

Close any programs you have open since this step requires a reboot.

• From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix by typing 2 and then pressing enter, then press any key to reboot your computer.
• After a reboot, your desktop and icons will appear, then disappear (this is normal). L2mfix will continue to scan your computer and when it's finished, notepad will open with a log.
• Copy the contents of that log and paste it back into this thread, along with a new hijackthis log, and we'll clean up what's left.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder unless you are asked to do so!

Okay, I hope I got this right, because the first time I ran it, I forgot to turn off Window Washer, so it deleted all the temp files on my computer. Thanks again! (P.S. So, what am I doing to my computer anyways?)

OK a few things to do...

Please read "ALL" of the instructions before proceeding:

You may want to print out these instructions for a reference or you can
save them by copying and pasting them into notepad and saving the text file to the desk

Download CleanUp
Install the program, dont run it yet, we will later.

Please download Pocket Killbox
Click Here to download Pocket Killbox by Option^Explicit.
Unzip the program and save it to your desktop, dont run it just yet.

Now scan with HJT and place a checkmark next to each of the following items:

Close all browsers and open windows except HJT, then click the Fix Checked button. Close HJT.

Now lets run Killbox

• Double-click on Killbox.exe to start the program.
• In the killbox program, select the Delete on Reboot option.
• In the field labeled Full Path of File to Delete enter the file paths listed below ONE AT A TIME (EXACTLY as it appears, please double check to make sure!):

C:\WINDOWS\system32\exp.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\AUNPS2.DLL

• Press the button that looks like a red circle with a white X in it after each one.
• When it asks if you would like to delete on reboot, press the YES button, when it asks if you want to reboot now, press the NO button.
• Do this after each one until you have entered the LAST file path I have listed above.
• After that LAST file path has been entered, press the YES button at both prompts so that your computer restarts.
• If you receive a message and your computer does not restart automatically, please restart it manually.

Once your system has rebooted do the following:

Now run the CleanUp program:

*IMPORTANT NOTE*
CleanUp deletes EVERYTHING out of your temp/temporary folders, it does not make backups.
If you have any documents or programs that are saved in any Temporary Folders, please make a backup of these before running CleanUp

Running CleanUp

• Start CleanUp by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu).
• When CleanUp starts go to the Options button (right side of CleanUp screen)
• Move the arrow down to "Custom CleanUp!"
• Now place a checkmark next to the following (Make sure nothing else is checked!):
  • Delete Cookies
    This is optional, if you leave the box checked it will remove all of your cookies, at this point removing cookies is a good idea
  • Empty Recycle Bins
  • Delete Prefetch files
  • Cleanup! All Users
• Click OK
• Then click on the CleanUp button. This will take a short while, let it do its thing.
• When asked to reboot system select No
• Close CleanUp

Reboot and post back a new HJT log by using Add Reply

• Create a new folder on your desktop
• Unzip/extract the files inside that folder you created on your desktop.
• Open the folder and run FindIt's.bat and wait for notepad to open a text file. It may take awhile so please be patient ...
• Then post the results here along with a new HJT log by using Add Reply

You may want to print out these instructions for a reference or you can
save them by copying and pasting them into notepad and saving the text file to the desktop.

Now lets run Killbox

• Double-click on Killbox.exe to start the program.
• In the killbox program, select the Delete on Reboot option.
• In the field labeled Full Path of File to Delete enter the file paths listed below ONE AT A TIME (EXACTLY as it appears, please double check to make sure!):

• Press the button that looks like a red circle with a white X in it after each one.
• When it asks if you would like to delete on reboot, press the YES button, when it asks if you want to reboot now, press the NO button.
• Do this after each one until you have entered the LAST file path I have listed above.
• After that LAST file path has been entered, press the YES button at both prompts so that your computer restarts.
• If you receive a message and your computer does not restart automatically, please restart it manually.

OK, you have very suspect files.. I would like for you to download this program. I have included instructions for download, setup and saving a report. Please make sure to save the report at the end of the scan.

Please download ewido security suite it is a free version of the program.

• Install ewido security suite
• When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck..
  • Install background guard
  • Install scan via context menu
• Launch ewido, there should be an icon on your desktop, double-click it.
• The program will now open to the main screen.
• When you run ewido for the first time, you may get a warning "Database could not be found!". Click OK. We will fix this in a moment.
  
• You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files.
  • On the left hand side of the main screen click update.
  • Then click on Start Update.
• The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
  (the status bar at the bottom will display ("Update successful")
• Close Ewido Security Suite

If you are having problems with the updater, you can use this link to manually update ewido.

Next, please reboot your computer in SafeMode by doing the following:

• Restart your computer
• After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
• Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
• Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

• Click on scanner
• Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
• You will be prompted to clean the first infection.
• Select "Perform action on all infections", then proceed.
• Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
• Click Save report.
• Save the report .txt file to your desktop or a location where you can find it easily.

Close ewido security suite.

Reboot your system back into Normal Mode and post the three following logs by using Add Reply

• ewido scan report
• Findit's report
• HJT log
