disk drive

my disk drive is not responding. when i insert a disk my drive does not respond to the disk. i have gone into my computer and then clicked on dvd drive then i'm told to insert the disk. so i take it out and put it back in to just be told the same thing. WHAT DO I DO AND CAN SOMEONE HELP ME?????

try uninstalling the drive from device manager and then restart your computer windows will automatically pick it up and install the it for you then try putting a disk in let me know if it works
