not updating any programs?

Ok. First off, b4 anyone gives me the rundown, I've already gone to your page for those suspecting malware and I have installed all programs according to your guide, but every program I have won't update. I click update and the update window will pop up but just freeze. It only happens when I try to update any program, spybot, ad-aware, trojan hunter, etc....
