I recently installed McAfee Virus scan because it was offered free through my ISP. Ater I installed it, A message came up saying, " Active Shield - Some components of the Active Shield are either missing or might not have been installed properly. Please reinstall Active Shield." I don't know how to install just the Active Shield so I reinstalled the whole program again. Again the same message came up. So I went through my computer and deleted and uninstalled everything having to do with McAfee and tried to install itonce again. Again the message came up. What do I do? :tazz:

Run these

You could have a virus stopping the install

If you get clean results from the scans, bookmark them and run regularly until you have contacted your ISP about McAfee

There are viruses which prevent anti virus programmes running, this could apply to them being installed.

If you are able to run the online scans, and get clean results, then it points to problems with the software.

Are you installing this from a disc the ISP supplied or downloading from their site

You can also try the online scan at McAfee here

Im downloading it from tier website. I'm fine with virus scans, I have lots of them, what I need is for the active shield to work. Something that stops the Viruses and whatnot from being there in the first place.
