well, the title says it all:
Can SATA drives also be used in external casings with USB connections?

They probably can "providing" you can find an enclosure that supports SATA drives. I never looked for one, so I don't know if they exist. If you're in the US, try Newegg.com, they have a ton of stuff!

By the way, your profile indicates your OS to be XP... this is the Win98 forum. In the future, the best place to post for help would be in the WinXp,2000,2003,NT or in this case, the Hardware,Components and Peripherals forums.
