Ok, I had a post the other day about losing my product key. http://www.geekstogo...ery-t54370.html
I cannot boot into windows and need to get the key from the install so I can format and reinstall. (Yes it is a legal legitimate copy of windows xp pro). I was wondering if I would be able to install the hard drive in another machine with a working copy of windows and get access to the files that way. My problem is that I was in the middle of a "repair" thinking that I would not need my key again, when I found that I did I quit out of it halfway through. So now when I try and boot it up with the "bad" drive in slave mode and the good copy in master it boots the "bad" drive with the half finished repair no matter what. Is there a way to make it so I can coose which drive to boot? Help please. I don't have a floppy drive and cannot get to DOS. I looked for bootable cds but what I found were not a DOS prompt type.

PLEASE HELP.

What is the cable select option on the hard drive jumpers, could that be it?
