Hi guys,

Seems ppl at my new workplace have gotten themselves a few trojans and adware type lovelies. :)

I'm just a lowly web designer but I guess im now tech support too  Personaly I've never had to deal with any of these annoying to remove things as i have spybot and tea timer and i religously deny changes to my system ;)

Anyway I've followed your steps but to no avail... here is a hijackthis log (after failing to remove it with spybot etc (im a bit dispointed spybot didnt work to be honest)).

Please help, I've done a little registry work and i've installed computers too many times to mention so any tips on how to not burdon you guys with any more of this annoying stuff would be welcome... ie where can i get a list of nasty files that i should remove/what files are actually critical to windows etc... heh that'd be nice >_<

I have installed and since removed other adaware apps as they failed and im not very forgiving ;p i left spybot on as teatimer is too cool.

Without any more rambling:

Hi boarsai and Welcome to GeekstoGo!

That appears to be the Look2me Infection,so please download the l2mfix from here
http://www.atribune....oads/l2mfix.exe
or
http://www.downloads....org/l2mfix.exe

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe.

Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop.

Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log.

Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until I ask you to.

If you recieve any error messages for CMD or Autoexec.bat>> Select Option 5 from the l2mfix and once at the Site,Click on the link that apply to your Operating System!

Double Click the file it downloads and Extract the files to its predetermined System32 folder!
