I recently added a new hard drive to my pc, when attempting to install xp it gets so far and then starts to have difficulty copying the files across. This continues for a period, the blue screen of death then appears with the stop: 0x00000024 message.

I have tried to run all the diagnostics that come with the xp cd, but to no avail.

Just to check that the new hard drive was ok, I proceeded to install xp on another machine using the same hard drive, this went on with no problem.

If anyone can shed some light on this drama it would be most appreciated.

I think ur Hard-drive may be damaged.
Download burn UltimateBootCD.
In ur BIOS set CD-ROM has 1st Boot Device.
Run the Hard-disk Diagnostic Tools on ur Hard-drive, to confirm.
