A product has installed itself on my system and is taking over when I'm on the Internet. I've seen that this forum has offered a fix, but it looks very complex and I'm not an XP guru. Macafee and other products I've got installed on the system don't even see this thing, but it is very annoying and seems to getting worse.

I've already downloaded l2mfix. What do I do now?

Please go to the malware forum in my signature and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the CLICK HERE .

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- then post a hijackthis log in THAT forum.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.

dsenette,

I hate to be dense, but I'm not sure what you mean by the "malware forum in my signature". I've followed the link and don't see any CLICK HERE button.

I've now run edwido based on another post and it found a bunch of Spyware that other products didn't find. However, WINFIX is still with me...

What am I missing in your post?

I've now followed the many steps in the malware instructions and while many things were found WinFix is still there.

I noted that some of the people on the forum seemed to have had success. What else is there to do at this point? I've got a current HijackThis and a report from ewido. Is that useful information?
