Windows XP shutdown problem

I cannot shut down my laptop. windows started to shut down and has frozen so keyboard does not function.

We need to find out if any application is causing problems at shutdown:
Start -> Run.
Type: eventvwr, Press <enter>.
List all the events (only the event-id and Source) which occur at the same time as u shutdown ur PC.
