My computer will not read any of my disks I put in the tower. Sometimes I can't even get the disk drawer to open. I can't put a disk in and type run. computer will not do anything. Everything else seems to working fine. Any ideas?

When you right click on My Computer and open Device Manager do you see the cd-rom listed and is it OK there?

do you have access to another cd drive? (check device manager first like tyger said....just preparing for the next step)

I should have said "and choose Properties", then you'll see DM.

right click m y computer > MANAGE > then device manager
