:tazz:
I got hit hard when going to a web page for hotels yesterday. I got taken over by that terrible psguard on my desktop. It was everywhere. I still don't know if it is completely gone. Now I have bestweblinks, intmon and popuper that I can't get rid of.
Here is what I have recently done....I could not go into safe mode because it would not allow me to!

1.hijackthis
scan then fix

2..Aboutbuster
begin removal
rebooted

would not allow to reboot in safe mode

3.Aboutbuster
ran again but did not reboot this time

4. cwshredder
agree, fix, next

5. ad-aware
full scan

6. ewido
complete system scan

7. empty recycle bin

8. cleanup!
deleted all temp files

9. rebooted

10. activescan
full system scan there wasn't an autoclean button to check

so here are my logs

Download smitRem.exe and save the file to your desktop.
Double click on the file to extract it to it's own folder on the desktop.

Place a shortcut to Panda ActiveScan on your desktop.

Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here:
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/

Please read Ewido Setup Instructions
Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files. Do NOT run a scan yet.

If you have not already installed Ad-Aware SE 1.06, follow these download and setup instructions, otherwise, check for updates:
Ad-Aware SE Setup
Don't run it yet!

Make sure all hidden files and folders are visible (Instructions )

Next, please reboot your computer in SafeMode by doing the following:
  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
  • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.
Scan again with HijackThis and check the following items:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = about:blank
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://www.bestwebsl...earch.php?qq=%1
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://www.bestwebslinks.com/bar.html

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://www.bestwebsl...earch.php?qq=%1
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page = http://www.bestwebslinks.com/
F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell=Explorer.exe, msmsgs.exe
O2 - BHO: HP Class - {FFFFFFFF-FFFF-FFFF-FFFF-FFFFFFFFFFFA} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\hpD8BE.tmp
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [teho2kr0] C:\WINDOWS\system32\teho2kr0.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Govtnbs] C:\Program Files\Arpp\Sjyld.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [RegSvr32] C:\WINDOWS\system32\msmsgs.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [intell32.exe] C:\WINDOWS\system32\intell32.exe

After checking these items, close all browser windows except HijackThis and click "Fix checked".

Find and delete this file and folder (if they are still there):
File:
C:\WINDOWS\popuper.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\hhk.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\msmsgs.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\intmonp.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ole32vbs.exe

Folder:
C:\Program Files\PSGuard
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\SahImages
C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\PANAWANDANA\FAVORITES\Fun & Games

Open the smitRem folder, then double click the RunThis.bat file to start the tool. Follow the prompts on screen.
Wait for the tool to complete and disk cleanup to finish.

The tool will create a log named smitfiles.txt in the root of your drive, eg; Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed. Please post that log along with all others requested in your next reply.

Open Ad-aware and do a full scan. Remove all it finds.

Run Ewido:
  • Click on scanner
  • Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
  • You will be prompted to clean the first infection.
  • Select "Perform action on all infections", then proceed.
  • Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
  • Click Save report.
  • Save the report .txt file to your desktop or a location where you can find it easily.
Close ewido security suite.

Next go to Control Panel click Display > Desktop > Customize Desktop > Web > Uncheck "Security Info" if present.

Reboot back into Windows and click the Panda ActiveScan shortcut, then do a full system scan.
Save the scan log and post it along with a new HijackThis Log, the contents of the smitfiles.txt (C:\smitfiles.txt) log and the Ewido Log by using Add Reply.
Let us know if any problems persist.
