2 hard drives and 2 CD roms?

I tried to put a second hard drive in my computer, I already have 2 cd roms but can't get my new hard drive to work and have lost one cd. How should I be connecting these? thanks for any help

For later model machines use the 80 wire atapi cable and set all the jumpers to cable select for all devices. For older machines with the 40 wire cable use master and slave on each cable. You may need to go into setup and set the BIOS to see the drives. If the setting for the new drive is "none" set it to "auto".

set the cd roms on 1 channell and the hdd on the other ensuring that the hdd with the operating system on it is the master do this with the jumpers, then do the same with the cd drives, in the even that one is a burner it is always a good idea to make the burner the master. u may then need to go into the bios and do an auto detect and then save configuration.
