I asked you to run a Panda Activescan. When it's done scanning, you can save the report.

Please run it. This scan tends to find and clean a lot.

I looked at the list. No problem there. I have some additional tips to follow, I'll post you those when we are done.

Sorry, I missed the panda scan in the earlier post. Looks like 19 spyware and 3 security risks were found. I'm posting the results of the scan. I don't know how to go back to scan and remove this stuff. Anyway, I guess I'm not clear after all. I'm still getting popups, although not winfixer. The most recent is venus123.

Here is the panda scan:

***

Download CWShredder.
Update CWShredder
  • Open CWShredder and click I AGREE

***

Make sure you have all the updates for AdAware SE 1.06
Don't scan yet.

My computer seems to running ok. It looks like each time i use one of these scans that you've told me to use, I find more spyware. The adaware scan identified 13 items in safe mode. It just looks like I'll never be completely rid of this stuff. Anyway, when we are done you said that you would give me tips so that i can keep my computer safe. I'm afraid to download service pack 2, because i fear that i'm not completely clear of spyware.

Here the HijackThis log that you requested.

Now it's showing. You still have a major infection. Let's go get it.

Please download the following tools to assist us in removing this infection!
  • Download WinPFind
    • Right Click the Zip Folder and Select "Extract All"
    • Extract it somewhere you will remember like the Desktop
    • Dont do anything with it yet!
  • Download Track qoo
    • Save it somewhere you will remember like the Desktop
Reboot into Safe Mode
Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.

Doubleclick WinPFind.exe
  • Click "Start Scan"
  • It will scan the entire System, so please be patient!
  • Once the Scan is Complete
  • Go to the WinPFind folder
  • Locate WinPFind.txt
  • Place those results in the next post!
Reboot back to Normal Mode!

Double Click on "Track qoo.vbs"

Note - If you Antivirus has Script Blocking, you will get a Pop Up Window asking you what to do. Allow this Entire Script to Run, its harmless!

Wait a few seconds and a notepad page will pop up, Copy & Paste those results and place them in the next post along with the results of WinPFind!

I'm sort of confused about this new scan that you wanted me to run. I've run it a few times and tried to save it to a folder. The first time I ran it I only got 2 lines of data. This last time only one line. For some reason i can't cut and paste and It won't let me save this to a file. When I save it and try to find it, I'm unable to do so. I'm typing here what is found on the log.

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\webcal\URL\Protocol
Data mismatch between Windows API and raw hive data.

This was it. I hope I'm doing this right. :tazz:

You did good. It creates a log on the computer, but the data is enough for me to be able to respond.

This looks like a registry key value that was updated by a background process during the scan and is probably innocuous.

Let me know how things are now.

My computer seems to be running pretty good, but I'm getting a strange message when I boot up. I get a black box which says C:\WINDOWS\System32\ldpx4.exe.

DNS error. I'm not sure what this is. This was not appearing before. I also get a message spui.nscpcdn.com 16 msdos subsystem dns error. Is this related to spyware or some of the work that we've been doing on my pc. On some of my web pages the writing is illegible. It's too small to read. So I'm better than I was, but I'm still having issue!! :tazz:

Hope you can help.

Double-click Killbox.exe to run it.

Select "Delete on Reboot".
Place the following line (complete path) in bold in the "Full Path of File to Delete" box in Killbox:
C:\WINDOWS\System32\ldpx4.exe
Put a mark next to "Delete on Reboot"
Click the red-and-white "Delete File" button. Click "Yes" at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click "No" at the Pending Operations prompt.
If your computer does not restart automatically, please restart it manually.

***

Run the l2m tool again.
First choose option 5 'Fix Autoexec.nt/cmd.exe error'

Then rerun option 2 and past me the log.

Okay, here's what I've done. I ran the Killbox.exe, but even after the reboot. I still get the same windows box that i mentioned in my earlier post. I do want to mention that when I get the the pending operations prompt there is no button to click for "no", so I just click on the "x" to close. It does not appear to have worked.

Secondly, I did run the l2m tool. I've never run option number 5 and your instructions were not clear as to what I should expect, so when I typed "5" I was sent to some sort of webpage. I didn't have any idea what to do beyond that point, so I went ahead and ran option 2.
