Why would a burned dvd copy have freeze ups off and on while watching?

I used Nero DVD burner with an 8X DVD/CD Writer Combo Drive.

Suggestions? Why does this happen and how do I minimize it? I am using TDK DVD+R discs

try burning at a lower speed.

if TDK was not used in the past, try the previous brand.
