Couldn't access internet today "no dial tone". Ran modem helper etc and ended up calling Dell, who diagnosed it as a "software issue", probably spyware. I would like to avoid paying them $100 to fix it. I tried to do all the things on this site's list. Problem is, I can't get anything on to my computer. I can get it on my friend's computer, and tried to copy it to a cd and then install on mine, but none worked. I did AdAware, spybot, winxpsockfix and some others. I could get the program on to my computer, but not the updates, and none would run without the updates.

Should I try HiJackThis even though I haven't been able to do those other things? Will I even be able to do it using a second computer? hh :tazz:
