registry error?

hey,

i keep getting errors from "messenger service" saying that my registry is corrupt. and to visit a number of websites to download programs. but the programs i have to pay for. i've reinstalled windows xp (which im on) but the errors seem to still some up. I also have at least 4 "svchost.exe" processes running in my tasks.

here is what one of these typical error messages look like.

i've also installed a number of programs including spybot, AVG free edition.And the LiveUpdate part of my norton systemworks doesn't seem to want to install

just wondering if anyone has had a similar problem. or maybe can help?

cheers !

i didn't know that were was an option to switch that messenger off. my system seems to be running fine, just get that all the time.

and also, does anyone know what "winPE.exe" is?

This is an undesirable program.

This file has been identified as a program that is undesirable to have running on your computer. This consists of programs that are misleading, harmful, or undesirable.

If the description states that it is a piece of malware, you should immediately run an antivirus and antispyware program.
