Hello all. this is my first post here so i will appreciate any replies and help iget. I have recently had a gigantic virus/spyware/malware/trojan attack so i decided to reinstall windows. I have the xp home edition and immediately updated to sp2 the first program installed was nortan antivirus and all updates have been made. The only concern i have is when i downloaded the latest microsoft anti-spyware. under the advance tools when i click the system explorer the side bar/column with all the system explorer options disappeared. This happened on my computer prior to reformatting my hard drive and re-installing windows. so i am kinda scared that i might be re-infected. so please help.
PS. no spyware has been picked up nor any viruses

Run all the programmes as advised then post a current Hijack This log to the malware forum

If this is a malware issue, any fixes you try before the system is clean are unlikely to work
