Hello,

I have a windows ME computer, it's an old gateway, and everytime i try to reboot it, the login comes up fine, and it runs alright, until it tried to load the desktop. The screen goes black. but you can still see the toolbar and the links on it. When i go to click start the box pops up but is all blank, and i've tried CTRL + ALT + DEL, and theres hundred's of the same programs called: Popuper, some called <unknown> and some intronmp prog. I keep on trying to end task of each, but again there are over 150 of em, and usually ill accidently hit ctrl+alt+del twice, or it will freeze.

I had suspected i will have to get a new harddrive... but is there anyway of fixing this? PLEASE i need your help!!!

Thank you.

Howdy and welcome to G2G:

Please go to the malware forum in my signature and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the CLICK HERE .

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- then post a hijackthis log in THAT forum.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.
