I was following some advice i found here under Aurora fixes and went under run and typed. servicie.msc i then disabled the remote procedure call (RPC) helper.
later I found my mouse would not let me copy and past, also while trying to use yahoo messenger nothing showes up when i type shows up.
i went back to the PRC helper and tried to enable through the properties and it was no longer an option.
what do i need to do to get this back working? I have win 2000 proffesional.

Thanks in advance.

You disabled Remote Procedure Call (rpc) ??!!!
Thats the most important service in XP\2000.

Remote procedure call (RPC) helper is malware; only Remote Procedure Call (rpc) is the most important service in XP\2000.

Try System Restore.

no luck on the system restore after trying

windows help= system restore , it gives you the directions and at the bottom states the following
hklm\system\current controlset only. any changes you made in other registries remain.

Services are listed in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services, which is subkey of the one in ur previous post.
So "system restore" should work
