Now that you have 3.1 running there is really nothing else to do, unless you had something in mind?

Have you got 95? I used to have it and it came on about 15-18 floppies.

That is a disk that allows you to boot a computer for troubleshooting purposes and only has a few files on it to let you format a drive or do a scandisk, edit files, that type of thing.

Before Windows ME, if you wanted to install an operating system you had to boot the computer with a boot disk and format the drive before running the setup program for the operating system. Now you can boot from the OS CD so you don't generally need a boot disk.

To open win3.1 you just type in win at the command prompt and hit enter. That opens the win.com file which starts loading windows.

If you want to load win95 or 98 on it just use the proper boot disk to do a

format C: /s

after you've changed the partition with fdisk.

and then put the disk in another computer to transfer the win95 or win98 folder to the hard drive, put it back in the laptop and when the prompt comes up type in

C:\win95\setup

and setup will start. Have your product key handy.

Have fun!

Since boylin only has a floppy drive I don't see that as an option.

We are not going to help you obtain a free illegal copy of Win95 in THIS thread, either.
