Hey, thanks or taking the time to read this.

a little history:
I have done a registry clean to get an program working again after 1 month trail.
After that cleaning I can no longer update my windows Me (I have 1 update that is not installt yet: 'Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1').
I used my registry backup I made... No effect.

So I want to burn my C: on CD's and do a 'format C:' but furst I want to get rid of all the Spyware/Adaware/Viruses so I update my Norton, let it run. Nothing is found. so way the ruch.

A few days later strange things happen. It is like I'm using the Pc for the first time. I get dialog boxes with example: 'Titel: This is the first time you use mediaplayer' and I have to fillout some settings; files are no longer linked to programs or are changed example: mpeg files are being opend in mediaplayer Classic in stead of the normal mediaplayer.

So must still be infected with some thing. so I run adaware--> 23 infected subjects
Then I install adaware SE, let it run --> 146 infected subjects

And today I cant even open doc files. I have to select the program to use in the program list and Word appears in theat list , but when i select it. A box apears saying 'to execute this action the program must be installed'.

So I'm thinking it is time to burn some backups. but easycdcreator isn't working any more. I do an unstall of easycdcreator and install. and now al looks good until the ectual burning begins. An error message appears with 'error in creator.dll' the program is being closed.

Perhaps McAfee can help me. So I want to install Mcafee and It tells me I first have to uninstall Norton. So I go to 'configurations' and want to uninstall norton, click uninstall. And yes again an error box appars 'this action can onely be done on programs that are installed' <_<

Some of the problem are propably from the regitry clean but that does not explain why after a few days my Ms office programs no longer working and why the program easycdcreator (beeing newly installed) is not working.

I'm all out of Ideas. But I realy want to have backups.
I thought of using patition magic to make an extra partition for the files I want to keep. But I'm scared the program will break down in the middel of it's opeation and all will be lost. first I have to make sure there are no more Spyware/Adaware/Viruses.

Perhaps you can work your magic for me. Thanks anyway!

Hi fab4. You've been working hard. <_<

First, get rid of NewDotNet. Go to Control Panel:Add/Remove Programs and remove it. If it is not there, go here and follow Procedure 4: http://www.newdotnet.com

Run adaware again and clean out your temp. files

Please delete your temporary files by deleting all files and folders that are in those folders (do not delete the temp folder itself) like for example
C:\WINDOWS\Temp\
C:\Temp\
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temp\
Also delete your Temporary Internet Files, be sure to also select delete all offline content.

Reboot and post a new log.

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.

Please reboot into safe mode (continually tap the F8 key while your system is starting, select Safe Mode from the menu).
Be sure you're able to view hidden files, and remove the following files in bold (if found):
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\RunDll16.exe
C:\PROGRAM FILES\GOLDEN EYE <- this folder (key logger)
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\ncmvrk.exe

Reboot your PC.

If you would please, rescan with HijackThis and post a fresh log in this same topic, and let us know how your system's working. <_<

Goldeneye is a keylogger. It would be wise to change any passwords used to log onto secure sites.

so, I have done the above.

When I restarted after deleting the folder C:\program files\golden eye in the safe mode, I got the message:

"windows could no update file %1 starting with %2
%1 %2
press on a key to continue" <_<

then I reinstalled easycdcreator, and got the same message again with the creator.dll error.

(Perhaps I have to repair my windows Me if that is possible, to fix this dll problem)

other than that nothing has changed.

this is my log file after installing easycdcreator:

JAVA_BYTEVER.A
JAVA_BYTEVER.A1
JAVA_FEMAD.B

Congratulations! Your system is CLEAN <_<

How do you prevent spyware from being installed again? We strongly recommend installing SpywareBlaster (it's free for personal use) Click Here.

Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted pests.
Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox.
Restrict the actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer.
Consumes no system resources.

Download, run, check for updates, download updates, select all, protect against checked. All done. Check for updates every couple of weeks. If you have any errors running the program like a missing file see the link at the bottom of the javacool page.

It's also very important to keep your system up to date to avoid unnecessary security risks. Click Here to make sure that you have the latest patches for Windows.

These next two steps are optional, but will provide the greatest protection.
1. Use ANY browser besides Internet Explorer, almost every exploit is crafted to take advantage of an IE weakness. We usually recommend FireFox Posted Image.
2. Install Sun's Java. It's much more secure than Microsoft's Java Virtual Machine .

It's okay to delete the Hijack This folder if everything is working okay.

After doing all these, your system will be thoroughly protected from future threats. :D
